-THE FOLLOWING IS UNEDITED TEXT DIRECTLY FROM THE FORUMS (AS OF AGES AGO, LIKE 12 MONTHS)-

'Mumble' is the software Cubic Worlds users use for voice chatting. This is nothing more than a brief tutorial for how to download the software, and how to get onto the server! If your not interested in voice chat, consider your curiosity for this thread satisfied.

Known users:
Birdtross
Muako
ShadowPanda89
bhirsch

The first thing you want to do is go to this website and download Mumble:
http://mumble.sourceforge.net/

This shouldn't take long, as it's about 14mb or something like that.
Hopefully (if you're a Windows user) it should have automatically put a shortcut icon on your desktop. Open it!
The program will now walk you through an easy to follow calibration setup. This should take about 5 - 10 minutes.

Now you're in Mumbles main window!
You should see something similar to the pull down tree in explorer here. You can use this to join *any* mumble server in the world.
But we're only interested in one: The Minecraft Cubic Worlds server.
So how do we find it?

The answer is that we have to add a new entry. This is at the bottom of window in the right hand corner.
You should now see an interface that we need to fill in:
'Name' (I forget the actual name ): This name can be anything you want, but it should have some sort of connection to minecraft, no? Personally, I named mine "Cubic Worlds."
Address: The IP for the server! It's on the announcements topic, but I'll put it here too:
85.236.100.59
Port: This is the number which follows the IP normally, like the number after the ":" to get onto Cubic Worlds:
25687
Username: This is the name people will see you having when you join the voice chat server. Again, it can be anything you want, but for simplicity's sake, just use your Minecraft usrname.

And there you go! If you have any burning questions feel free to ask, but I must warn you that I'm not that great on the tech side for computing, I'll do my best, though. But to be honest, you're probably going to have a faster and better response from the Mumble FAQ:
http://mumble.sourceforge.net/FAQ

Hope to hear you soon!

The Arena takes it's inspiration from earlier incarnations Zombies Forever! and Zombies and Skeletons Forever! (also maintained by Birdtross) and is being designed with the speicific goal of being incredibly difficult, and ultimately pointless. :P

The goal is to attract some kind of server wide event where all users attend and one at a time enter the arena and fight mobs to the death.

I want the audience to choose to be able to help the gladiator or kill them mercilessly. >:D I will do this with a number of hazardous traps.

The arena's resident bosses are Lucy (Skeleton), Bruno (Zombie), Stan (Creeper) and Annete (Spider). If some kind of Mod support was granted, spawner eggs could be used to initiate these boss fights.

Pearldegrinis Castle is the private residence of Cubic Worlds player Birdtross. Set back 100 blocks from the eastern New Avalon Spawn border, the Castle often attracts attention from travelling adventurers, and many have stopped to simply admire it.

This build is a classic example of Birdtross's "Build as you go!" philosophy. Barely and pre-planning occurred and most exterior cosmetic decisions were made on site.

Construction

The outer wall was the first established construction (for mob security reasons) andcomprised entirely of wooden planks. Over time this was polished into its final form of logs, fences and stone bricks. The rest of the build follows on from this simple, yet attracting, pattern and is present on the inner wall and most of the interior.

The main goal with this castle was to keep it small and give most locations a strategic purpose, not necessarily from a cosmetic perspective, but rather than a Minecraft functional perspective. The turrets spaced along the outer wall provide an excellent view of the surrounding mountains and sea. Perhaps the only cosmetic luxury occurs in the first floor of the main building, and takes the form of a dining table. A completely worthless feature in this writer's opinion, but nonetheless stands to this day. The crafting area below ground level remains the biggest room in the castle, and storage space is expanded as necessary.

Notable Features

The castle is home most horticultural plants. Deliberately set to full manual harvests, these farms provide a welcome source of exotic pumpkin and melon seeds for newer Members. 3 Sheep also make their home here in 'glitch-escape proof' quarters.

Trivia
- The small cobblestone and dirt construct in front of the castle was made by users Kwarvek and Emily2000 and has stood in this fashion for longer than this Castle has been standing. This writer therefore believes the users have become inactive.
- Birdtross's first ever enchantment was imbued here, onto a diamond pickaxe. It was level 50 and was Efficiency 4, Unbreaking 3, Fortune 3.

Birdtross's current project is Zombies and Skeletons Forever!, serving more as an event hub rather than a regularly playable minigame, owing to the distance from Greenview Plaza.

Note: This game has been rated as High risk. You WILL die! Before combatants are allowed inside the arena itself they are strongly advised to read the rules and understand the risks involved.

Zombies Forever! is a minigame that was built by Cubic Worlds players Birdtross and Muako. It essentially consists of a zombie spawner in the center of a death-pit. Players enter this death-pit with some basic fighting equipment and are awarded points for where and how they kill zombies.

Getting There
From Greenview Plaza, players need to taken the eastern path (the direction the sun rises from). Follow the path out of the public crafting area and enter the maze of streets. Keep heading east, past the Cube Tower. The path should now change texture. Pass by Sunshine Tavern and head over the small bridge. Now head through the small tunnel cut into the side of the mountain here. Following the path past the Cursed Forest will bring you to the Arena entrance.

Gameplay
Once you drop into the arena, the resident zombies will begin their relentless attack. A 'judge' (most normally Birdtross) will keep track of your score. Once you have died, the game is over. The judge will then announce your score and, if it's high enough add it to the highscores.

Only the top 8 scores make it onto the highscores for any division.

Scoring
Points are awarded for the way in which you kill a zombie:
*1 point is awarded for an 'arrow kill'
*2 points are awarded for a 'sword kill'
*3 points are awarded for killing a zombie that's on fire with any weapon!

The center of the arena is a Double-score area (marked by mossy cobblestone on the floor). If you and the zombie are standing on it when the zombie dies, you will be rewarded with double points!

Divisions
Before fighting in the arena, you must choose which division you wish to play in. Each has it's own set of requirements you must fulfill in order to participate. This includes weapons, armour and entry fee: Anyone know how to make tables? The following list would be cool in a table. Thanks! -Birdtross
*Conan Style! Normal weapons, no armour - 30 Kubes
*Robin Hood Bow only, 60 arrows, no armour - 20 Kubes
*Outta Ammo!?! Sword only, no armour - 10 Kubes

Normal Weapons
'Normal weapons' are considered to be : 1 Stone Sword, 1 Bow, and 30 Arrows. You are expected to have these in your inventory unless

Traps
Every minute or so, the 'judge' will activate a trap, specifically a lava fall. There are four lava fall traps in total.

Rewards
Certain maneuvers or point milestones will reward you with items once the game is finished.
*If your score is high enough to make the highscores you will receive feathers, equal in quantity to your score.
*A 6 point kill (ie on fire in the mossy region) will automatically win you an iron ingot.
*A top score will win you an iron ingot.

'Normal weapons' are classed as: 1 Stone Sword, 1 Bow and 30 arrows.
At this time, we do not sell armour, but if you'd like to supply some, let us know!
You can bring any amount of food into the arena, but it has to be bought from the chest shops there (this is in addition to the entry fee). The general rule is that the food is worth the amount of healing it gives you (so a piece of bread is worth 2.5 Kubes).

In the weekends, we'll also open up some special divisions:
Gamble: (Minimum of 3 players) Normal weapons, any armour, maximum of 3 food. The entry fee of 50 Kubes is hefty, but if you get the highest score, you win back 75 Kubes!
Endurance: Anything Goes! Diamond swords, multiple stacks of arrows, you name it you can take it in (This may be a bad idea, as scores could run into the thousands... we'll have to see!). - 50 Kubes
Doubles: 2 Friends take on the horde! One wields the sword, the other the bow! - 25 Kubes each
Pumpkin Slayer: Bone, 60 arrows, any armour, maximum of 3 food items (This division is only available to Pumpkin Head Clan Members). Don your Pumpkin Mask and bone and show you're the toughest of them all! - Free!!

If you're interested in competing, post a reply here.

*All rules and arena traps are subject to change*

That's all for now! If I left anything out, let me know.

[Birdtross]: We have the wiki now, so rather than refer people to the forums, here it is!

-THE FOLLOWING IS UNEDITED TEXT DIRECTLY FROM THE FORUMS-

Before fighting in the arena, you must choose which division you wish to play in. Each has it's own set of requirements you must fulfill in order to participate. This includes weapons, armour and entry fee: Anyone know how to make tables? The following list would be cool in a table. Thanks! -Birdtross

Before fighting in the arena, you must choose which division you wish to play in. Each has it's own set of requirements you must fulfill in order to participate: Anyone know how to make tables? The following list would be cool in a table. Thanks! -Birdtross
*Conan Style!: Normal weapons, no armour - 30 Kubes

-THE FOLLOWING IS UNEDITED TEXT DIRECTLY FROM THE FORUMS-

We've also installed some rather nasty lava traps, which will be activated every minute or so.

The game continues until your inevitable death, at which point a judge (probably me or Muako) will tally up your score, announce it, and add it to the highscores, but only if it's high enough. Only the top 8 scores feature in the highscores for any division.

You can choose up to 7 different battle modes (or divisions) to play in. Each division has a set entry fee.
Conan Style!: Normal weapons, no armour - 30 Kubes
Leather Man: Normal weapons, leather armour - 30 Kubes
Iron Lung: Normal weapons, iron armour - 30 Kubes
Gold Digger: Normal weapons, gold armour - 30 Kubes
Diamond Knight: Normal weapons, diamond armour - 40 Kubes
Robin Hood: Bow only, no armour - 20 Kubes
Outta Ammo!?!: Sword only, no armour - 10 Kubes

The Church of the Holy Wool is a small Cubic Worlds religion. Priests of this religion are relatively few (particularly compared to the more popular faith Ghastianity).

Origins
The 'Church' is actually the over-amalgamation of an inside joke started by players using the Cubic Worlds voice chat server Mumble, the idea being that wool is the most versatile and easy to use material in Minecraft.

In an early stage of construction, Zombies Forever! once had a lava wall circumnavigating the arena. At one point the builder 'ballsed it up' and caused lava to stream all over the arena floor (popularly called at the time a 'lava tumour'). The builder quickly grabbed the nearest block on their hot-bar to purge the floor lava.

The material was none other than wool.

Spectators and builders alike expected the wool to catch fire at any moment, but it never did. They came to the conclusion that the wool had miraculous powers.

Before long, a devoted church building was erected, just behind Zombies Forever!

Trivia
*The church building itself is comprised mainly of stone.
*The church is spherical.
*The church also once had a Nether portal, but it connected to public entrance, so was torn down shortly after.
