Introduction
Cubic Worlds offers a lot of exciting new features compared to playing in singleplayer mode. Because of the size of the world and the number of interesting places there are to explore, we use a selection of "plug-ins" that let you type commands into the chat bar to perform in-game functions. This page gives you a summary of the things that you can do on the server, and tries to explain what makes our server unique amongst the hundreds of others out there!

Why is Cubic Worlds Special?
We offer:
* Survival gameplay enhanced with a selection of additional gameplay features
* A friendly and knowledgable community that welcomes players of all ages and skill levels
* Fun weekend events offering prizes that are hosted by real people, not robots
* Security and protection from griefers to make sure your time and effort isn't wasted
* Moderated gameplay that is safe for children to enjoy
* No donor perks - you will never be forced to pay in order to enjoy everything the server offers
* Instant building power
* Honourable Staffers who follow a strict code of conduct and can be held to account by the players
* A rich history that continues to develop since the server's founding in May 2011
None of these things are "marketing hype". They are the principles that have made the server the uniquely enjoyable place it is today. If you're looking for somewhere to discover how awesome it can be to build things with other people, Cubic Worlds aims to make your online experience the best it can possibly be.

Slash Commands
So-called "slash" commands can be typed into the chat bar at any time while in-game to carry out various useful functions. While the number of commands can be a little bewildering, you don't need to remember everything all in one go. Feel free to visit this page as often as you like to familiarise yourself with what's available. It is updated regularly.

Some commands need additional information, such as the name of a player, in order to work, whilst sometimes a command will work differently depending on whether you include extra information.
* If a piece of information is required by a command in order to work, it is enclosed in [square brackets].
* If a piece of information is accepted but optional, it is enclosed in (round brackets).

Homes and Teleportation
Members on Cubic Worlds are currently allowed to set up to 10 homes, plus world spawn locations, at any given time. Members can also use the /call and /tpahere commands to requests teleports to and from each other. If you're a new player, keep in mind that it is considered good manners to ask a player in chat whether they are busy before /calling them.

* /spawn - teleports you to the spawn point of the particular world you are in.
* /sethome [Homename] - defines a home location with the given name.
* /home [Homename] - warps you to a previously defined home.
* /delhome [Homename] - deletes a named home location.
* /home - shows a list of the home locations you have set.
* /call [Playername] - sends said player a teleportation request.
* /tpa [Playername] - same function as /call but shorter.
* /tpahere [Playername] - sends a request to a player for them to teleport to you.
* /tpaccept - accepts a player's teleport request and brings them to you. Note that the player must first use /call or /tpa in order for them to be teleported.
* /tpdeny - deny the request of a player who called to teleport to you.

Note: Some events and games do not allow you to set homes in them and still qualify to win, for example the Jump Gauntlet and its sequel.

Economy and Chest Shops
Cubic Worlds uses a virtual currency called "Kubes", represented by the letter "K". You receive a daily bonus of 20 Kubes when you first log in for that day, and can gain more by trading with other players and selling items through chest shops.
* /money - shows the current balance of your wallet.
* /pay [Playername] [Amount] - pays a player the given number of Kubes.
* /baltop - lists the top balances of players on the server.
Chest shops take the form of a sign placed immediately above a chest that contains the item being bought or sold. A typical chest shop will have a layout that looks like the image to the right.
* The first line tells you the owner of the shop.
* The second line indicates the quantity of items that will be bought or sold with each click.
* The third line indicates the price, per click, at which you can buy from or sell to the shop.
* The fourth line is a description of the item being traded.
* To buy: Right-click the sign.
* To sell: Left-click the sign.
Sometimes, when buying, shops will be out of stock (or the chest may be full if you are trying to sell). In this case you will have to find another shop to trade at, or if the shop owner is online, let them know through chat.

To create a chest shop of your own:
* Put a chest in a suitable location.
* If you are selling items, add them to the chest.
* Place a sign directly above the chest and fill it in as follows:
** Leave the first line blank.
** Fill in the other three lines as per the descriptions above, using the example as a reference.

Block Protection (LWC)
As you play in Cubic Worlds you will eventually acquire a stash of items that you want to keep safe from other players. To minimise the chance of having your items stolen, every chest that you place in the world is locked by default so that only you can access it. Using the commands below, you can remove or adjust these lock protections in many ways. You can also lock furnaces and other container blocks which are not protected as standard.

Many features may be accessed through the /lwc command directly with additional parameters or by using these aliases:
* /cprivate - places a lock on a door, chest, etc. so that only you can open or destroy it.
* /cpublic - prevents the object from being destroyed, but allows free access to all.
* /cpassword - creates a password lock. Anyone who knows the password can access by typing it into chat, after clicking on the object.
* /cunlock - provides an opportunity to temporarily unlock a password locked object.
* /cmodify - lets you change the list of people who may access a lock. To remove an entry from the those able to access the object, preface the username with a hyphen (-) in the parameter list.
* /cremove - removes a lock you have placed. With password locks, you must first enter the password.
* /cinfo - click on any locked object after typing this to see who the lock belongs to and whether you can access it.

Additional /lwc features that aren't replicated by the aliases above:
* /lwc -o - displays a list of people granted access into an object.
* /lwc menu - toggles the help display of /lwc aliases or full commands.
* /lwc mode persist - makes it so that you can use a /lwc feature multiple times without having to retype it each time.
* /lwc mode droptransfer select - allows you to specify a chest where all intentionally dropped items are instantly transferred to.
** This chest may be on a different world than the one you drop items from. It does not save your current inventory in case of death, but makes it so that it is unnecessary to return to a chest to unload excess inventory from what you carry.
* /lwc mode droptransfer on - enables drop transferring. Note: it is very difficult to give someone an item when this is enabled.
* /lwc mode droptransfer off - disables drop transferring.
* /lwc -r modes - removes any previously specified /lwc mode assignments.

Colored Signs
Note that only Citizens and higher can make colored signs.
To make colored text, type & immediately followed by the appropriate letter or number for the desired color, then type the text you want to be colored.
0 - =========
9 - =========
e - =========
f - =========

... and in the beginning, there was only a small welcome lodge and a plaza with a hole in it to greet the weary travellers...

Cubic City is the newly founded capitol city of New Avalon. It was founded by Zolyx with support from other donators on October 27th, 2012 at 13:30 GMT far away from spawn, so it would have plenty of room to grow. This city was directly wrought from an attempt to bring back the spirit of Greenview from Pixellia into the server once more. The burgeoning city can be reached via a portal directly north of New Greenview Plaza.

Description
Upon entering the city, the player will find him/herself inside a small stone station with a glass roof. On the walls are posted the rules of the town. When the player exits, they will see the main plaza and all the buildings that were built very rapidly around them. This includes small houses, gardens, walls of wood and stone, and many towers of various material composition. The most striking tower of all is the Cubic City Trading Tower, where all commerce is done in the form of an iConomy Chest Shop system.

Policy
In Cubic City, most all types of buildings are accepted, but all personal builds must be limited to a 25x25 space or smaller, and can stretch no higher than y=100. Players do not need permission to start building, but the above guidelines must be followed. If a player wishes to
build something that defies these standards, they must have it cleared with Zolyx beforehand, or bad things may happen to them!

List of Notable Builds:
*The Tower of Knowledge by JakTheMad
*Cubic City Information Centre by Tommy_walsh
*Whizzkid's Tower by whizzkid12345678
*Cubic City Trading Tower by merasane
*Thumb4kill's House by thumb4kill

Trivia
* Cubic City had a poll before it opened, to determine the name of the city. The one we went with was by far the most popular of them.
* This city is a direct result of this thread on the forums:
* The city will soon have one of the first working Beacons, when the server updates to 1.4. It will shine out of the glass block in the middle of the plaza.
* Cubic City will likely become the largest city on the server.

Cubic City Trading Tower was built my mersane a while ago before chest shops where back to make a place for Members of Cubic worlds to trade in however shortly after the foundations were started for the huge build. Zolyx (The servers only Op) on return from his holiday announced that chest shops were back however they were only to be made in certain market regions. So seeing that Cubicwas the Main Member run city there almost had to be a one in the city. Therfore the trading tower that mersane built was planned to be the tading hub of the whole server Zolyx invited to to be moved to Cubic City to act as the Main market region.

Description
The tower is make up of big curved glass walls sloping inwards. The floors are made for smouthstone. The tower features so far 3 floors for trading and on the fourth floor a lovely garden overlooking the immense view of Cubic City It also contains a water elevator.
... and in the beginning, there was only a small welcome lodge and a plaza with a hole in it to greet the weary travellers...

*Koads Sunken House by koads
*Zowa's Plots by zowa

So seeing that Cubic was the Main Member run city there almost had to be a one in the city. Therfore the trading tower that mersane built was planned to be the tading hub of the whole server Zolyx invited to to be moved to Cubic City to act as the Main market region.

Description
The tower is make up of big curved glass walls sloping inwards. The floors are made for smouthstone. The tower features so far 3 floors for trading and on the fourth floor a lovely garden overlooking the immense view of Cubic City

* The city will soon have one of the first working Beacons, when the server updates to 1.4. It will shine out of the glass block in the middle of the plaza.
Cubic Worlds uses a plugin mod that adds Chest Shops. Shops are used to buy and sell items without having to meet face-to-face with the buyer/seller. A shop is built by placing a sign above a chest.
Here is the format for a shop's sign:

First line- blank

Second line- quantity of item

Staffer is the term used to describe any high-ranking user who keeps order on the server and forums. While all staffers have considerably more power than normal users, they are themselves divided into ranks. Staffers follow the Staff Policy to ensure an open and friendly relationship with the players of Cubic Worlds.

Staffer Ranks
The following is a list of the current staffers for Cubic Worlds, in descending rank.

Ops
An Op - short for Operator - is typically the top rank on a server, and appears red in chat. Ops have access to any and all of the server commands and responsibilities, most notably including the ability to promote and demote players to any rank and to annoy pretty much everyone by regularly restarting the server for no obvious reason.

*Zolyx - the simultaneously loved and feared Chief of Staff of both Cubic Worlds and the Minecraft Museum. He is in charge of all of the higher functions of both these places as well as the forum that lets their communities mingle.

Temp Ops
This rank is given to a trusted user (usually a Moderator) who is given Op status while the Op is away. It implies that the user will return to Moderator status when the Op returns. They have pretty much the same powers as an Op, but for the most part, don't know how to use them. They can look things up, though, so don't fret!

(There are currently no Temp Ops)

Moderators
Moderators are high-ranking users trusted to watch over the server and help orchestrate events. They appear orange in chat. They have most of the world-altering powers that Ops have, can spawn items, blocks, and even mobs when needed, and can promote and demote on the Guest / Member range. Like all staff members, Moderators are equipped with banhammers.

* Fubaka - the longest running user on the server besides Zolyx himself. He is well known for creating the two Jump Gauntlets, Snowview, The Greater Library, and others. Fubaka returned to being a Moderator after 3 months of retirement as an Elder. Fubaka is the founder and proprietor of Nova.
* Mystic_Murray - possibly the most loved user on the server. Mystic is well known for his OCD perfectionism and for being the founder and proprietor of The Citadel.
* Squeedge - one of the server's Cake Barons. He is obsessed with farms of all sorts and tries to observe as many different methods of constructing them as he can.
* SunnySoulSheep - The newest Moderator. Due to general helpfulness, she rose to a Moderator position faster than anyone else on record.

Elders
Elders are staff members who have chosen to step down from staffing duties and enjoy a quiet life once again. In recognition of their service all ex-staffers of Moderator or above are given this title.

* Biscuit_Junkie - server-renowned cake and dome addict! Runs the Official Test Server for Cubic Worlds and is the founder and proprietor of Moya.

Officers
Officers are the first tier of lawkeepers within the server and appear yellow in chat. Those in this position have the ability to teleport themselves and others and can dispense justice using their banhammers to get rid of troublesome users. Officers have access to rollback commands to reverse griefer damage and also serve as moderators on the Minecraft Museum forum.
* masternoj - the server's official Hero of Time and co-owner of Hyrule. Co-creator of the Spleefosseum, along with Bhirsch, and owner of the Castle Ood. Has an odd sense of humor and a massive symmetry OCD.
* OminousFire - Cubic Worlds' renowned redstone wizard. Creator of Pina Park, the CNG, and Redstonia, as well as the unfinished University of Redstone. Likes to help with redstone projects, when he's not busy with one of his own. Does not like to use his own materials for other's projects, but will most of the time use his own on those projects.
* derGymnacke - the server's other redstone wizard. He is busy most of the time working on projects given by Mystic_Murray. He also tends to make things more complicated than necessary. Warning: Making him think about redstone projects can make him go crazy and screaming things like "for SCIENCE".
* ColDimitri - he loves hoarding massive amounts of as many different kinds of materials as he can. This includes a horde of iron golems
* runicrules - she likes to build walls encompassing large areas and invites only trusted people to help her.
* On3Win9 - Is always willing to help and was instrumental in helping to complete the original Citadel.
* JakTheMad- Owner of Valhalla.
* Shabbyjazz- The server's greatest woolophile.
* brickviking- The Creator of the rail system and the only true viking

Help from Staffers
You can almost always count on there being at least 1 staffer on at any given time. You can ask them almost any question within reason and expect them to answer you respectfully. It is important though to know that this server is meant to be played in way that is as close to "vanilla" Minecraft as possible, so there are a few things that you should not ask them:
* Do not ask Officers or above to teleport you, under any circumstance. The staffers will decide when it is appropriate to teleport people.
* Do not ask Moderators or above to spawn items or mobs, or change the time/weather for you. You are meant to deal with these problems with the appropriate vanilla strategies. These staffers will only spawn blocks for you if you have been irreparably griefed or rolled back.
* Never ask any staff member to promote you. Ops will decide which players are worthy of promotion based on their general behavior and actions on the server.

If you have any question for a staffer and cannot seem to find them on the server, you can send them a private message on the forums. They are expected to check their inboxes periodically and respond with gusto.

There is at the moment no working economy-commands in Cubic Worlds...

LWC
Many lock features may be accessed through the /lwc command directly with additional parameters or by using these aliases:
/cprivate - places a lock on a door, chest, etc. so that only you can open or destroy it.
/cpublic- prevents the object from being destroyed, but allows free access to all.
/cpassword- creates a password lock. Anyone who knows the password can access by typing it into chat, after clicking on the object.
/cunlock - provides an opportunity to temporarily unlock a password locked object.
/cmodify- lets you change the list of people who may access a lock. To remove an entry from the those able to access the object,
preface the username with a hyphen (-) in the parameter list.
/cremove- removes a lock you have placed. With password locks, you must first enter the password.
/cinfo- click on any locked object after typing this to see who the lock belongs to and whether you can access it.

Additional /lwc features that aren't replicated by the aliases above:
/lwc -o - displays a list of people granted access into an object.
/lwc menu - toggles the help display of /lwc aliases or full commands.
/lwc mode persist - makes it so that you can use a /lwc feature multiple times without having to retype it each time.
/lwc mode droptransfer select - allows you to specify a chest where all intentionally dropped items are instantly transferred to.
This chest may be on a different world than the one you drop items from. It does not save your current inventory in case of death,
but makes it so that it is unnecessary to return to a chest to unload excess inventory from what you carry.
/lwc mode droptransfer on - enables drop transferring. Note: it is very difficult to give someone an item when this is enabled.
/lwc mode droptransfer off - disables drop transferring.
/lwc -r modes - removes any previously specified /lwc mode assignments.

Colored Signs
Note that only Citizens and higher can make colored signs.
To make colored text, type "&(insert letter)" and the proper letter or number for the desired color before each line of text. a- green
b- light blue
Homes and Teleportation
Users on Cubic Worlds are allowed to set up to 10 homes and the spawn location at any given time. Users may also use the /call and /bring commands to teleport to each other.

/spawn = Teleports you to the spawn area of the particular world you are in.
/sethome [homename] - sets a home location.
/home [homename] - warps you to previously defined home.
/delhome [homename] - deletes a named home location.
/home -shows a list of the private warps you have set.
/call [playername] - sends said player a teleportation request.
/tpa [Playername] - same function as /call but shorter.
/tpahere [PlayerName] - sends a request to a player for them to tp to you.
/tpaccept - brings said player to your location. Note that the player must first use /call or /tpa in order for them to be teleported.
/tpdeny - Deny player who called to tp to you.

* Some events and games do not allow you to set homes within and still qualify to win them. (I.e. The Jump Gauntlet and its sequel.)
* Warping to a home in a different world is now safe and possible to do.

Miscellaneous
Other Miscellaneous commands that are useful but not always well known are:

Description
The Church of Squee was conceived and built after an encounter between the user paullessard and the mod Squeedge. Having witnessed first hand the divine powers in which Squeedge possessed, it was decided that there needed to be a religion in which believers could practice and express their faith in the almighty mod. The Church of Squee first opened it's doors in the beginning months of 2012 in Redville, currently the only village with a church dedicated to the religion. Tommy_walsh then took over the religeon on the 23/06/12 after seeing the religion was about to die.

Under Influence
Tommy_walsh took over the religeon on the 23/06/12 after seeing the religion was about to die.

Latest Organized Events
Due to the religion being taken over by Tommy_walsh he is still finguring his way through the religion and therefore haas not had time to orginise events.

Trivia
*The first and original church dedicated to Squeeism was torn down to make room for other builds. A bigger, better church has since been built.
*Squeedge has been known to visit the church from time to time, blessing those present with his divine powers, and sometimes cake.

/lwc mode persist - makes it so that you can use a /lwc feature multiple times without having to retype it each time.
/lwc mode droptransfer select - allows you to specify a chest where all intentionally dropped items are instantly transferred to.
This chest may be on a different world than the one you drop items from. It does not save your current inventory in case of death,
/lwc mode droptransfer on - enables drop transferring. Note: it is very difficult to give someone an item when this is enabled.

/tpaccept - brings said player to your location. Note that the player must first use /call in order for them to be teleported.
