The Temple of Rana is the primary seat of written knowledge in Lunaris and the successor to the Grand Library of House Antaka in Tesseract. Located at the heart of Alexandria province, it sits in the middle of Lake Alexandria upon Rana Island. With its facade often being the first thing visitors to Alexandria see and its beacon light shining through the night, it is a safe haven for those venturing north along the Crescent River from Lunaris' spawn point.
The Temple of Rana was built by SamWellMag with the express idea of making a library where every bookshelf contains readable books. Visitors to the temple are free to copy any copyable books on the shelves, so long as the originals are not absconded with or otherwise mishandled. More specific rules and information may be found by reading the lectern books within the temple.
The library is split into five principal sections as follows:
- Apocrypha: The central chamber of the temple contains an eclectic assortment of books from Cubic Worlds' past, including all of the books that were once housed in the Grand Library of House Antaka and its predecessor facilities. Here as well is where the central beacon sits, and where visitors may donate books to the library.
- West Wing: A moody blue wing housing the Otherworld Lit. collection of books.
- North Wing: A cheery yellow wing housing the Cubic Tales collection of books.
- East Wing: A noble red wing housing the Cubipedia collection of books.
- Catacombs: A collection of utility rooms under the main temple complex which currently includes a public treasury and a Wool Hall. Housed in the treasury is Rana's Merciful Guidance--a Recovery Compass that anyone can use if needed so long as they return it later.
The Temple of Rana also features an ornate Quartz dock at the front, along which runs Alexandria's railway.
Trivia
- The Temple of Rana was named after Rana--an early mob from Minecraft's deep past who is now revered as the goddess of the Moon alongside her sibling Soru--God of the Sun.
