The Nolania Circulum is a large self contained player build, built by dnolan1337 in the far corners of New Avalon near Shabbyjazz Castle. It serves as dnolan's primary base of operations. Its location was selected purely because of the total amount of slime spawning chunks in the area.

Description

The Circulum is a 100 diameter cubestone and glass circular wall, with a large building at each of the 4 compass points on the circular wall. Each building is color coded and serves a unique purpose. The field created by the circular wall is 7 below sea level. The inner walls surrounding the field are lined with wooden planks. The Base makes extensive use of stone brick, glass panes, wooden planks, and cubestone.

So far 2.5 double chests of cubestone, 4 chests of pine logs, a chest of cobble, a double chest of panes, a double chest of smoothstone, and 4 chests of stone brick have gone into the base's construction. The tower will require another chest of stone bricks and a chest of cubestone to complete.

The base currently extends from Y5 to Y 97, with most of the structure being hidden underground and in several hollow mountains created during the initial Terra-forming.

Construction

The Circulum straddles several biomes, including ocean, Taiga, Extreme Mountains, and plains. A large percentage of the central field of the base was originally ocean, back filled with gravel and sand. Special thanks to SunnySoulSheep and Knolan1121 for placing most of it. Two mountains were cleared to make way for the base. Once the base was completed, the remainder of the mountains were hollowed out, and rebuilt to look natural while leaving as much internal space as possible, these caverns now house the chicken coop and wheat farm.

After the land was Terra-formed to sea level, and the outer walls were built, a circular cobble path was built around the inner wall of the base. The inner field was then dropped a further 7 levels, and the walls lined with wooden planks. The bottom of the field was lined with dirt and seeded with grass. Initially the field was lit with torches, but due to it being used to generate flowers and seeds, the torches were quickly switched for recessed glow stone lighting.

After, the Brown color coded wing was built, housing dnolan1337s primary storage area, the only doorway in the base to go outside the walls, and his crafting area. All other buildings were then created. As new features were desired, further rooms and staircases were added to the base to support the project. The tower took a total of 3 hrs to build, the staircase took a further 2.

After, several hundred man hours of digging and smelting have gone into creating a vast underground complex under the base field.
