The hall of portals is marked on the surface by a small pagoda-looking structure with a stairway in it.  Going down those stairs leads the player to a well-decorated room with a fountain and four portals.  Each portal is marked by an obsidian frame and a glass pane interior with either lava or water behind it. If there is lava, that means the portal is active and stepping into it will take the player somewhere. Water marks that the portal is inactive.
The Tower is a rather large stone brick structure with a prominent flag on top.  Hanging off the tower are several balconies which have portal totems on them.  (most of which have not been claimed yet) Additionally, there are portal totems in the main courtyard and in the sub courtyard. Also in the sub courtyard is a button which refreshes the Command Blocks if they are not working for the player.
