The 1.8 Test World (Also known as Avalon) was a sub-world set up after the server updated to Bukkit 1.8 RB. It could be reached via brick portal in Pixellia north of spawn, facing the chest recovery station.
Description
This world was set up to allow players who hadn't updated to 1.8 before this time to experience the new features of 1.8 on the server. It was a fresh map that contained all the goodies that came with the 1.8 update, including Strongholds, NPC Villages, Mine-shafts, and ravines.
Demise
This world was removed after it became apparent that, due to the memory demands of Beta 1.8, it simply couldn't run at the same time as Pixellia. Removing this world has helped a little with this issue, but ultimately, a new server will need to be found if Cubic Worlds can ever hope to be as big or bigger than it was prior to the 1.8 update.
