This gauntlet is planned to be completely unlike the way the first two looked or operatedIt is currently envisioned as a giant cube, built out of Stone Brick blocks, that will stretch from the bedrock layer, to just below the top of the worldBuilt correctly, it will be almost completely dark in the cube, and any fall from the main platforms will end up with the player falling into the Void, so don't bring any valuables in that you don't want to lose!
Players who challenge the gauntlet will be required to empty their pockets of anything other than food itemsThe gauntlet itself will consist of several lavish underground chambers built beneath the site of the Ville d'Art, and will only be open when Fubaka accepts a number of challengers, to go one at a time.  Winners will be given a generous reward and will be added to a board of Gauntlet GrandmastersCheaters will be booted out the first time, and permanently disqualified the second time.

Within the giant dark and hollow cube, several elevated platforms, each representing a level, will be built about the interiorThere are planned to be at least 20 of these platforms. In order to win the gauntlet, the player must successfully complete every level in order without cheating in the usual manners.
The majority of the challenges in the gauntlet will require the player to strategically use and time the effects of splash potions that will be shot out from dispensers in the walls(i.e. a splash that allows the player to cross a series of burning platforms without getting hurt) Often, there will be puzzles where the player must decide which button to push to get the desired effect.  Pressing the wrong button might result in a harmful splash. (like poison or slowdown)

Unlike the previous two gauntlets, this one will provide checkpoints every 5 or 10 levels, but daring players will be given the option to run the entire thing in one go, Iron-Man style. (Bonus points if you have an Iron Man skin on while attempting the challenge :P)  The reward for normally completing the Mega Gauntlet will probably be much greater than the Second Gauntlet was, and additional rewards might be given to those who Iron-Man it.
The Splash Gauntlet will likely feature old tricks like water and trapdoor jumps, as well as a good deal of piston-work, and possibly some mob fighting as well.  If the gauntlet becomes long and/or hard enough, there may also be checkpoints, and possibilities for Iron Man rewards too. Unlike the previous gauntlets, this one will not always be open, due to both the need to refill the potion dispensers, and the myriad griefing and cheating problems that the last two were riddled withFubaka will have a vantage point in each zone, watching the player's progress to ensure that no cheating can be gotten away with.

This gauntlet will attempt to throw every trick at you, from standard jumps, ladder jumps, piston-based traps, trapdoors, water jumps, dark jumping, timed doors, mob fighting, etc... It will also utilize new blocks and actions from 1.8, like Sprinting for extended jumps and Glass Panes for thin platforming and water gates.

In light of recent news about potion-brewing, there will be an extra rule for gauntlet-goers.  Do not bring any potions that would enhance speed or jumping!  There will probably be obstacles that require these potions, but in that event, the potions will be provided, and in minimal quantities.  Anyone caught with speed or jumping potions of their own in the gauntlet will be disqualified!

This project will most likely constitute the majority of Fubaka's time on the server, and any donations in the form of cobblestone, smooth stone, stone brick, or coal will be most appreciatedInside the gauntlet lobby will be a complete list of everyone who made major contributions to the gauntlet's construction, beside the list of Gauntlet Grandmasters.  There will also be a separate glorified board for Iron-Man Grandmasters.

The Splash Gauntlet (formerly known as the Mega Gauntlet) is a planned project to be built by Fubaka on the next main world, after either the 1.9 update, or the official release of Minecraft. (whichever comes first)

Current Plans

Players who challenge the gauntlet will be required to empty their pockets of anything other than food items. The gauntlet itself will consist of several lavish underground chambers built beneath the site of the Ville d'Art, and will only be open when Fubaka accepts a number of challengers, to go one at a time. Winners will be given a generous reward and will be added to a board of Gauntlet Grandmasters. Cheaters will be booted out the first time, and permanently disqualified the second time.

The majority of the challenges in the gauntlet will require the player to strategically use and time the effects of splash potions that will be shot out from dispensers in the walls. (i.e. a splash that allows the player to cross a series of burning platforms without getting hurt) Often, there will be puzzles where the player must decide which button to push to get the desired effect. Pressing the wrong button might result in a harmful splash. (like poison or slowdown)

Unlike the previous gauntlets, this one will not always be open, due to both the need to refill the potion dispensers, and the myriad griefing and cheating problems that the last two were riddled with. Fubaka will have a vantage point in each zone, watching the player's progress to ensure that no cheating can be gotten away with.
