Features and Commands

Introduction

Cubic Worlds offers a lot of exciting new features compared to playing in singleplayer mode. Because of the size of the world and the number of interesting places there are to explore, we use a selection of "plug-ins" that let you type commands into the chat bar to perform in-game functions. This page gives you a summary of the things that you can do on the server, and tries to explain what makes our server unique amongst the hundreds of others out there!

Slash Commands

So-called "slash" commands can be typed into the chat bar at any time while in-game to carry out various useful functions. While the number of commands can be a little bewildering, you don't need to remember everything all in one go. Feel free to visit this page as often as you like to familiarise yourself with what's available. It is updated regularly.

Some commands need additional information, such as the name of a player, in order to work, whilst sometimes a command will work differently depending on whether you include extra information.

• If a piece of information is required by a command in order to work, it is enclosed in [square brackets].
• If a piece of information is accepted but optional, it is enclosed in (round brackets).

Homes and Teleportation

Members on Cubic Worlds are currently allowed to set up to 10 homes, plus world spawn locations, at any given time. Members can also use the /call and /tpahere commands to requests teleports to and from each other. If you're a new player, keep in mind that it is considered good manners to ask a player in chat whether they are busy before /calling them.

• /spawn - teleports you to the spawn point of the particular world you are in.
• /sethome [Homename] - defines a home location with the given name.
• /home [Homename] - warps you to a previously defined home.
• /delhome [Homename] - deletes a named home location.
• /home - shows a list of the home locations you have set.
• /call [Playername] - sends said player a teleportation request.
• /tpa [Playername] - same function as /call but shorter.
• /tpahere [Playername] - sends a request to a player for them to teleport to you.
• /tpaccept - accepts a player's teleport request and brings them to you. Note that the player must first use /call or /tpa in order for them to be teleported.
• /tpdeny - deny the request of a player who called to teleport to you.

Note: Some events and games do not allow you to set homes in them and still qualify to win, for example the Jump Gauntlet and its sequel.

Economy and Chest Shops

Cubic Worlds uses a virtual currency called "Kubes", represented by the letter "K". You receive a daily bonus of 20 Kubes when you first log in for that day, and can gain more by trading with other players and selling items through chest shops.

• /money - shows the current balance of your wallet.
• /pay [Playername] [Amount] - pays a player the given number of Kubes.
• /baltop - lists the top balances of players on the server.

Chest shops take the form of a sign placed immediately above a chest that contains the item being bought or sold. A typical chest shop will have a layout that looks like the image to the right.

• The first line tells you the owner of the shop.
• The second line indicates the quantity of items that will be bought or sold with each click.
• The third line indicates the price, per click, at which you can buy from or sell to the shop.
• The fourth line is a description of the item being traded.
• To buy: Right-click the sign.
• To sell: Left-click the sign.

Sometimes, when buying, shops will be out of stock (or the chest may be full if you are trying to sell). In this case you will have to find another shop to trade at, or if the shop owner is online, let them know through chat.

Block Protection (LWC)

Many lock features may be accessed through the /lwc command directly with additional parameters or by using these aliases:

• /cprivate - places a lock on a door, chest, etc. so that only you can open or destroy it.
• /cpublic - prevents the object from being destroyed, but allows free access to all.
• /cpassword - creates a password lock. Anyone who knows the password can access by typing it into chat, after clicking on the object.
• /cunlock - provides an opportunity to temporarily unlock a password locked object.
• /cmodify - lets you change the list of people who may access a lock. To remove an entry from the those able to access the object, preface the username with a hyphen (-) in the parameter list.
• /cremove - removes a lock you have placed. With password locks, you must first enter the password.
• /cinfo - click on any locked object after typing this to see who the lock belongs to and whether you can access it.

Additional /lwc features that aren't replicated by the aliases above:

• /lwc -o - displays a list of people granted access into an object.
• /lwc menu - toggles the help display of /lwc aliases or full commands.
• /lwc mode persist - makes it so that you can use a /lwc feature multiple times without having to retype it each time.
• /lwc mode droptransfer select - allows you to specify a chest where all intentionally dropped items are instantly transferred to.
  • This chest may be on a different world than the one you drop items from. It does not save your current inventory in case of death, but makes it so that it is unnecessary to return to a chest to unload excess inventory from what you carry.
• /lwc mode droptransfer on - enables drop transferring. Note: it is very difficult to give someone an item when this is enabled.
• /lwc mode droptransfer off - disables drop transferring.
• /lwc -r modes - removes any previously specified /lwc mode assignments.

Colored Signs

Note that only Citizens and higher can make colored signs. To make colored text, type & immediately followed by the appropriate letter or number for the desired color, then type the text you want to be colored.

General Purpose

These are a selection of other commands which can sometimes be useful.

• /kit starter - gives you a free set of stone tools.
• /time - shows the current Minecraft time.
• /compass - tells you what direction you are facing.
• /getpos (Playername) - gives your coordinates or another player's coordinates.
• /who, /online, /list, or /playerlist - lists the players online and how full the server is.
  • A playerlist can also be accessed by holding the Tab key.
• /suicide - kills you
• /seen [Playername] - Tells you when this player last logged out.
• /me [Message] - displays a status message in 3rd person. Example: A user named "Steve101" typing "/me has found diamonds!" relays onto the screen in white text as "Steve101 has found diamonds!"
• /msg or /tell [Playername] [Message] - sends a private message to named player.
• /tell [Playername] [Message] - Sends a private message to named player.
• /r [message] - sends your reply to the player that has sent a pm to you.
• /mail [Playername] [Message] - Sends a message to a player for them when they come on.
• /helpop [Message] - Asks a Officers+ for assistance.
• /ping - Pong!
