*'''Don't build taller than the plot's height restriction! (Though try to build close to it, if not at it)'''
(For specific details, consult the layout image below.)
*'''Please keep all art PG! (I don't wanna get in trouble)'''
*'''Do not feature cobblestone or dirt on any surface of your art piece! (Those blocks be ugly)'''
(Exceptions can be made if you can somehow make these blocks look good in an art piece)

*'''Please don't make 2-D pixel art on any of the art plots!  That's what the Murals are for!'''

There will also be height restrictions, based on the plot size and location, in order to make the city more aesthetically pleasing.  Players who choose the larger plots will be advised to try and build close to, if not at the height limit for the respective space.  (For specific details, consult the layout image below.)

The only solid rules for buildings in this theoretical place will be: '''NO COBBLESTONE OR DIRT IN SIGHT''', unless it is only temporary.  Also, Fubaka will restrict 2-D pixel art to the mural wall only, not on any of the plots.

The Ville d'Art is a planned town to be orchestrated by Fubaka in New Avalon. It is planned to be built in a field beyond the nearest NPC Village, and it will house the Splash Gauntlet.

Current Plans

The town will be a large, square, flat area divided into many sections. The focus here will be art (as the name implies), and anyone who builds in the town must make whatever they build artsy. (think of the Cube Tower) Anyone who wants to build will need to pay a moderate fee for a section of land, (free plots will be given to users of exceptional artistic talent) and must stay in that section, unless it would help the art to connect to another structure. (with the owner of said other structure's approval) There will also be certain height restrictions, with taller structures allowed closer to the town center. Fubaka will have particularly high standards for what is built in the town, so anyone looking to build in here must be willing to truly get in the aesthetic zone. There will be a x9 high wall surrounding the entire town, and that wall will become one giant public mural! (example: Public Murals) There will be a constant segment of wall for every player who wishes to take part.

The official rules of the town are as follows:

  • Do not build ANYTHING without Fubaka's permission! (Violators will be forced to pay double the fee for the plot, or be charged with griefing!)
  • Don't build taller than the plot's height restriction! (Though try to build close to it, if not at it)

(For specific details, consult the layout image below.)

  • Please keep all art PG! (I don't wanna get in trouble)
  • Do not feature cobblestone or dirt on any surface of your art piece! (Those blocks be ugly)

(Exceptions can be made if you can somehow make these blocks look good in an art piece)

  • Try to have a theme flow going with nearby artwork! (Especially if you are doing a mural)
  • Please don't make 2-D pixel art on any of the art plots! That's what the Murals are for!

Players have the option to make their art piece entirely aesthetic in nature, or they could build it with a function. The artwork could serve as a house, a shop, or even a game of some kind! Just don't dig too deeply into the ground, as something special is gonna be built beneath the town, and the entrance to which will be in the Central Art Piece. Don't forget that you can utilize mechanisms too, if that will help make your art more arty!

Fubaka will reserve the right to have unsatisfactory structures removed/redone, and the offending materials returned to the player who built it. Players who build something truly impressive, on the other hand, will receive prizes, and will be granted access to special spaces if they so desire. Special plots will be given out early to those who are worthy of them. If you feel worthy, please send a PM to Fubaka on the forums, or post a reply to the thread located here: [1] with a picture of your character standing in front of some other amazing structure you have built at some point.
