Lifespan

August 13th, 2016 - Present

Tesseract is the current primary world of Cubic Worlds. It was brought into being in order to accommodate the new features of Minecraft 1.8 - 1.10 (most notably the new End), and to give the players a fresh start. Unless a major change in world generation happens with a new update, this will be the final world.

Description

Tesseract starts in coastal Tesseract City at spawn, backed by a plain surrounded by forest. From there, the land stretches northward and westward, with a huge rift-like ocean dividing the world into two main areas.

While the central peninsula is mainly green plain, forest and mountain, going further out in any direction will yield deserts and/or mesas. Going even further out will yield mushroom biomes along the divide, a large jungle to the west, a mega taiga to the south, and several tundras to the north and east. All of this is punctuated by numerous oceans, small and large, full of all sorts of islands.

The most striking difference between Tesseract and its predecessors is its expansive End. Introduced on the 18th of September 2016, it consists of numerous floating islands, all of which can be colonized by whoever is brave enough to do so.

Structures

Tesseract is still new, so there aren't too many structures yet. Players are allowed to move their builds from Voxellia in, though if their build is larger than 5000 square blocks, it will need to be at least 2000 blocks from spawn. The spawn area is a measured town with buyable plots of land, which Chest Shops can be placed in. This is designed to give players a place of commerce, but not be nearly as crowded and busy as Voxellia's spawn city was.

Plans are underway for a land-level railway system, which will, as per usual, stretch to the far corners of the world. A portal tower will also be placed in the near future.

Tesseract is home to the following builds:

Trivia

  • A great war was fought over which name to give to this world. For a time, it was feared that this world would be named Worldly McWorldface. Thankfully, the forces of good and decency won the day, thanks in no small part to Fubaka digging out a large portion of Ore, and becoming Mole King in the process.
  • The seed for this world was voted on, along with six others. The original name given to the seed was The Blue Divide.
